September 2008

Things are crazy around here, so here's what's been going on!

On September 1st, we had a really big day. Mommy and Daddy took me to Sea World today! We met up with Aunt Karen and Uncle Rob and Robbie and Anna. We saw the Elmo show and I had lots of fun. I’ve never watched Elmo before, but maybe I should. Robbie likes Elmo. I can tell because he was wearing an Elmo hat.

Then I took a nap while all the grown ups ate lunch. Then I had lunch! While I was finishing my lunch, Daddy disappeared and when he came back, he brought me a present! I got a Sea World hat. I didn’t want to wear it because it was too big for my head, but he was so proud of himself.

Then we walked to another area and there were a lot of barking animals. People were throwing smelly slimy things at them and they ate them. I guess they were out of bottles! Mommy was showing me a Mommy and baby sea lion. The baby was having his lunch. Don’t ask how I know these things!

Then we went to another show but I fell asleep by the time the show started. I think it had something to do with a black and white blob that can swim, but that could’ve been something I dreamed up. Mommy held me during this show and was trying to explain to me what was happening. Sorry Mommy. Maybe next time, okay?

Then we walked Aunt Karen and everyone to the door and said good bye. I really needed to have my diaper changed so we cut the good byes short. We went over to the dolphin nursery and the mommy dolphins there thought I was amazing. They kept swimming back and forth looking at me. One time, there were 4 mommy dolphins just staring at me. I don’t think they’ve ever seen a human baby before.

We left after that and Daddy gave me a toy – a dolphin that chirps and jiggles. It’s fun! We went home and I slept really well that night. I had a busy, busy day!

On September 2nd, I had a bad day. I went to the doctor and they gave me shots! LOTS of shots! I had 2 on one leg, 1 on the other leg and one on my left arm! OWIE! Did I mention that I don’t like the doctor? I don’t care if they say that Mommy and Daddy are doing a good job and I’m getting bigger. I don’t like shots. 2 is my limit! For those of you keeping track at home, I now weigh 11 lbs. 1.5 oz and I’m 24” long.

On September 7th, I went over to Grandma and Grandpa’s house (Mommy’s side) and gave them a present for Grandparent’s Day. I got them a frame and put a cute photo of me in it. And Mommy helped me put some other photos in a little album for them too. They love seeing me and playing with me and were even happier to have photos of me to show others. Wanna know something funny? Grandma and Grandpa didn’t even know there was a Grandparent’s Day!

On September 10th, Mommy had a lot of stuff to do in the house and she asked Miss Katie to watch me while she was getting her work done. I tried to be good for her, but I really wanted Mommy to pay attention to me. I decided that I would make a really good impression and slept a good portion of the afternoon while she was there. Mommy got a lot of work done before Daddy got home. He was really proud of her and so am I!

On September 11th, I had a really weird day. Mommy took me to day care. I got there in the morning and Mommy left! I was hanging out in my little area and Mommy came back in a few minutes. I was having fun in the bouncy seat I was in, so I just said good bye to her and let her leave. Mommy came back a lot later in the day. She talked with my teacher and I guess all those smiles I was giving all day paid off. The lady gave me a good report card and Mommy was so happy to see me! I gave her big smiles too and told her I love her. That really makes her happy. We got in the car and headed over to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. We’re going to stay with them for a while because our house is broken. I’d tell you more about my day at day care, but they told me that what happens at day care stays at day care!
