August 2008

Mommy has been really busy lately, so she hasn't let me log on to my web site too much. She let me write a summary entry though. Thanks Mommy!

On August 17th, Daddy and I started playing a brand new game – ARMS UP. Daddy puts his arms in the air and says “Arms up.” Then I try to put my arms up in the air like Daddy’s. It takes so little to amuse Daddy!

On August 18th, I decided that I wanted to sleep tonight. So I slept 6 hours at night. Mommy was funny because she was wondering why I hadn’t woken up yet. I like to mess with her like that. Mommy and Daddy seem to be a little happier if I sleep a little longer, so I guess I’ll start pulling my weight around here and sleep longer at night.

On August 19th, I learned a fun new game. If Mommy or Daddy helps me a little bit, I can pull myself up to sit. I like sitting a lot more than just lying around. Plus, it’s fun to play with Mommy and Daddy. They get so excited at every little thing I do. I can’t wait until I can do some really COOL things to make them really proud of me!

On August 20th, Daddy stayed home today. It was neat because it was a day he would normally go to work. I always love it when Daddy’s home but it was extra special. Someone named Fay made him not go to work. Remind me to thank her.

On August 21st, something horrible happened. There was a lot of rain because of someone named Fay. I liked Fay yesterday, but I don’t think I like her any more. Mommy was happy and so was I. We were changing my diaper just like normal and then Mommy got really upset. Her foot got all wet when she stepped on the carpet in front of my changing table. Daddy was on his way home and they started moving my furniture all over the place. Something bad is happening and I’m not sure what it is. Is my nursery ruined? I hope not because I really liked it the way it was!

On August 23rd, I was fussy all day today. Mommy and Daddy aren’t quite sure what was wrong with me. They have several theories, but I’m not going to tell them what the problem was. I like to keep them guessing!

On August 24th, Uncle Jason came to visit. He can’t believe how big I’m getting. We played a bit and had a nice visit. I can’t wait until I’m older so that we can play even more games!

On August 26th, I gave Mommy and Daddy a BIG shock. They showed me a bottle and asked me if I knew what it was. My eye brows went up and my ears went back and I went ooooh. I sure do know what a bottle is. That’s where the food comes from. I look for one on every single table that I see!

On August 28th, I discovered that there are some things at the end of my legs that wiggle and I can make them do things. Mommy calls them feet. I just think they’re fascinating!

On August 30th, I went to my first outdoor event – a garage sale. Mommy and Daddy were looking for some toys for me, like something that goes bouncy because I like to kick and move around. They bought me a few outfits and also some girlie outfits that I HOPE are NOT for me! But they bought me a really cool bomber’s jacket for when I’m bigger. Daddy thought it was super cool! It was a bit hot outside but I survived. Everyone said I was really cute. I’m really getting used to hearing that :)

We had a PARTY at my house today! Mommy says it was the BB BBQ the sequel. All I know is that there were lots of people that all seemed to know me and like me. There was a lot of noise because the big kids were playing with Mr. Tim. I hope Mommy and Daddy will hire him for my next party!

I enjoyed meeting so many people and playing with my friend Robbie on the floor. I got to see Grandma and Grandpa (Ricky and Teresa). I was pretty good except when my diaper was wet! Then I would get fussy. I also had a bottle at the party (just to be social).

By the time everyone left, I was pretty tired. I actually slept from 7pm until 9:45am. I only got up twice for bottles and I ate them quick and fell right to sleep! I think Mommy is grouchy with Daddy because I slept so much while he was on the night shift. But then again, Mommy got lots of sleep too!

Remember I said Mommy was totally easy to amuse? Well, today, I amused myself a little. There's this purple thing that Mommy calls a rattle. She put it in my hand and I held on. I started moving my arm around like I usually do and this thing would make noise. I'd move my arm again and more noise! I played with it for a few minutes and then let go. Mommy was so proud of me!

Mommy is so easy to amaze. Today, I grabbed her glasses and took them off her face. I put my hand across the glass part and just yanked them right off. I'm so strong! Mommy was just impressed that I was able to take them off her face. Maybe I was just trying to tell her to wear her contacts more... just kidding. I love Mommy.

Daddy told Mommy that I'm the next American Idol, but she didn't believe him. Okay, I've started to sing along with the music in my swing. I particularly like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I don't know the words, but I'm humming along with the music. I've got some rhythm! Mommy is impressed!

Today we went to visit Great Grandma! Last week was her birthday, but she ran away to the Keys! She was really happy to see me. I think she really likes having me around.

Mommy and Daddy took her to eat at a restaurant called Papa Joe's and we got to meet Papa Joe. He had another baby who was younger than me but way bigger than me. That's okay because all the waitresses thought I was adorable! I was really good in the restaurant and just let them have a good meal while I slept.

We had a nice visit and Great Grandma can't wait to see me again!

I had my first photo shoot today. I took some photos with me and Mr. Bear in the afternoon. Then when Daddy got home in the evening, we took more with Daddy and I and then with Mommy and me. I think I like Mr. Bear better for a photo buddy. He just lets me be myself instead of trying to pose me and move me around.

I went to church today for the first time. Everyone kept saying that I was an angel and I guess they'd know, right?

The pastor's wife thinks I'm adorable. I met another little girl there but she's really old (like 7 months or so) and she was checking me out! Actually, I find that lots of girls think I'm cute. Yeah!

When the music started playing, I woke up and my eyes got really big. I've never heard live music before. I enjoyed myself at church, even though I got the hiccups. I hate the hiccups!

But I had my bottle after the service and then we went home. Daddy stopped at WalMart and Mommy stayed in the car with me. It was a pretty good day.

I didn't have a very good day today. I had to go to the doctor's office. Mommy and Daddy say it's for my own good, but I think they're just making themselves feel better for making me miserable!

First, they made me get all naked and that means COLD! They put me on a cold scale and then on some crinkle paper and got out a measuring tape. Then the doctor came in and stuck things in my ear and mouth. He talked with Mommy and Daddy for a little bit. Apparently, they're doing a pretty good job with me. Then the doctor left and this mean nurse came in the room. She shot me! I don't like shots. I hope I don't have any more!

The best part was when I got to put my clothes back on and leave. They gave Mommy a sticker that said that I'm now 9lbs 2oz and I'm 22.25 inches long. It had a giraffe on it.

    Comments:
Mason Kinne:  Don't worry Danny. Eventually, you'll get to a point where you still hate the shots, but think the crinkle paper is pretty cool.
