Today was a fun day! Mommy told me it would be a big day and she wasn't kidding!

First, I went shopping for the first time! We went to Babies R Us to pick up a few things for me. No toys though. No cute outfits either. But there were lots of neat things there that I would like to have.

Next, we went to Daddy's work. I got to meet Daddy's boss and his co-workers. They all thought I was super cute! Daddy's boss even fed me a bottle.

Then SARCASM BABY did his thing - Daddy said that I have been really good about spitting up and that maybe I've only spit up about a total of 2 bottles. So I decided to wait until after Daddy strapped me into my car seat before Mount Danny-suvius erupted! I got spit up all over my outfit, my blanket AND the car seat straps. Heh Heh Heh!!!!

Once they changed me into my baseball outfit, we went over to another couple places around campus. Daddy was really proud to show me off and everyone thought I was super cute and so well behaved! I played along to make Daddy look good. Maybe he'll remember that when I want a car in 15 years!

Then we headed over to Jackie Robinson Stadium in Daytona for my very first baseball game (see why Mommy packed a baseball outfit?). We watched the Daytona Cubs play against the Vero Beach Devil Rays (the Chicago and Tampa Bay minor league teams). Daddy's work was having a picnic and watching the game. He got to show me off to a bunch more people and lots of people had fun holding me.

We left after the 4th inning because it was getting late and I was tired. The game started late because the field was still wet, so I really made it a long time! It was a busy day for me! Mommy tells me that the Cubs won the game, in case you were wondering :)

Today I went over to Grandma Teresa and Grandpa Ricky's house. Mommy and Daddy were there for a little while, but then they left. I don't know where they left, but I had fun playing with my grandparents. I had a bottle and took a nap and did all the fun things that babies like to do.

When I woke up from my nap, Mommy and Daddy were back! I was really happy to see them! They changed my diaper and then we went home because it was starting to rain and there was lots of thunder and lightning.

I'll have to go see my grandparents again some time and maybe tell Mommy and Daddy to give me some alone time with them!

Today, Mommy took me to the place where Daddy plays poker on Thursdays so that Daddy could show me off a little bit. It was my first time going to a restaurant.

I was sleeping when I got there and then I got fussy. I wanted to eat too! I had a bottle while Mommy tried her food. She didn't like it very much though. I didn't have my full bottle either. Maybe it was her first time going to a restaurant too?

Daddy showed me off to some of his friends and the ladies think I'm really cute. I'm starting to get used to people thinking I'm cute. Is that vain? I hope not.

Daddy went back to work today so it was just Mommy and me. I was really good for her on her first day by herself.

We went on a car ride to Mommy's doctor today. All the ladies there thought I am just the cutest thing! Daddy has already taught me to agree with the ladies when they say something true :)

After the doctor's, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house (Ricky and Teresa). I got all sorts of attention and I was really good at burping for Grandma! I just couldn't stop myself! The grownups had pizza and I had a bottle! It was a good visit!

We went to see Great Grandma again today! She's been feeling better and needed another dose of Danny-cilin! Apparently I have healing powers! And you thought I was just a pretty face!

Great Grandma loves to spoil me and can't get enough of me! She loves to give me bottles and she's pretty good at burping me too! She likes to rock me to sleep and still thinks I'm just the cutest thing!

We stayed until Saturday and then came back home to the kitties!

I went on my first adventure today! We went over to my great grandma's house in Spring Hill. I didn't mind too much because I slept most of the way over there.

Great grandma was really happy to see me and kept calling me a pretty boy. She wasn't feeling well but Mommy and Daddy know that I'm good medicine for her!

We stayed for 2 days with great grandma and then we went back home to see the kitties!

Today Mommy and Daddy gave me my first bath. They had to look in the book to see what they were supposed to do. Rookies!

Daddy washed my face. Mommy washed my hair. Mommy put a nice towel on my head while Daddy washed my body. Then they took off my diaper and BRRRRR! I was freezing! I started yelling to tell them I was cold but they just kept going.

Finally they finished, put a new diaper on me and wrapped me up in my towel. I was much happier. Once I was dry, they put me in a new outfit that had a place for my feet so they wouldn't be cold. They wrapped me in a blanket and I was all kinds of happy!

THEN I SPIT UP HALF MY BOTTLE FROM WHEN THEY FED ME BEFORE MY BATH! Don't they know that I should've been bathed BEFORE I ate? Rookies!

They had to strip me down again and I got a sponge bath with baby wipes. COLD! Then they had to dress me again and get me all warm. I hope they learn from this.

This has been the most relaxed day of my life! It has been just Mommy and Daddy and me all day today!

Mommy has been feeling much better today and has fed me my bottles and finally changed my diaper! I was nice and started her out slow with only a little bit of poop. But I made sure to wiggle around a lot to get my new diaper on. She's still making some rookie mistakes, but I've got faith that she'll figure out this Mommy thing pretty soon!

Actually, Mommy and I spent the whole afternoon together while Daddy took a nap. He's been doing such a good job taking care of me and Mommy that he really deserved a nap!

Today, we decided that since I'm such a good eater, that they're going to try to give more food at my feedings and see if I sleep better. They're trying to figure out what will make me happy and I like that!

I've got to go have my bottle now and stop updating everyone on my busy days. Night night!

Jen K.:  Danny, be nice to your Momma. It is not a little boys job to use mommies as targets for practicing their aim. Glad you're home safe and sound.

Today was a busy day. I saw my doctor (not that OTHER guy, although he showed up too!) and my doctor says that I'm a good looking baby and healthy! I've been eating all my bottles and healing nicely from yesterday's bad boo boo thing!

Daddy's parents visited me again and I got to meet Uncle Rob. He's silly! He was telling stories that made everyone laugh, including Mommy and she's not supposed to laugh too much.

We stayed in the room until a nice lady brought Mommy a fancy chair to sit in. Then something really weird happened! I got put into a different type of crib, really snuggly like, and then the whole world started moving! I saw all sorts of things, like lights and more lights!

All that excitement just tuckered me right out and I slept all the way to my house! I got there and found out that it is so much bigger than where I had been staying all my life. I might like it here!

Grandma and Grandpa stayed for a while and then it was just Mommy and Daddy and me. There are some other things in the house but they haven't introduced themselves to me yet (a little rude I must say).

I got to see my room and how nicely it is decorated for me. Just for me! They must really love me to give me such a nice room!

I was so excited from my big day that I kept Mommy and Daddy up a lot of the night. Daddy and I ended up camping out in his big boy rocking chair most of the night! Did I mention that cuddling with Daddy is one of my favorite things to do?

Today has been my least favorite day so far. The doctor that I thought was my friend because he introduced me to Mommy and Daddy came back and did something terrible to me in my diaper area! IT HURTS! I hope that's not how he tries to make friends with everybody because he's gonna be a lonely guy! But I was a really brave boy and Mommy and Daddy are super proud of me.

Daddy's family came to see me today in the morning and Mommy's family came to see me in the evening. Mommy didn't feel good all afternoon and that made me a bit fussy. I don't like it when Mommy doesn't feel well. They gave her some medicine and she took a nap and then she felt much better.

My friend Maria didn't come to see me today so I spent the night with Mommy and Daddy. I was upset that I didn't get to see my friend, but Daddy cuddled with me and made me feel better. I like cuddling with Daddy. He's warm!

Today was a day like none other... especially since I was only born yesterday!

I saw all my grandparents again today and even got to meet my GREAT grandmother. Everyone seems to laugh when she's around. She must tell good jokes.

Daddy and I spent some good quality time together today. He's getting good at feeding me when I want him to. And he's really good at changing my diapers! He's my hero!

Mommy and I got to spend more time together today too but she's still feeling a bit sore from yesterday. She had a hard day too! But I made her feel better though - when she told me that she was glad that she had such a good son, I smiled at her. It was gas, but I think I fooled her!

My best friend Maria came to see me tonight, but she had to play with another baby so we only spent half the night together.

I had a hard day today - I was born! I saw this light and then boom - I was born! I did my little crying thing to tell everyone how fierce I was, but they just bundled me up and brought me to my Mommy and Daddy. I like them a lot!

Mommy and Daddy kept telling people that I'm a sarcastic baby. Well, I've also got good comic timing! When the nurses were rolling Mommy to our room, they angled the bed in such a way that they were stuck. Right at the moment they were getting stuck, I let out a cry and scared both of the nurses! Heh heh heh!

I met lots of people today. I met all of my grandparents, my Uncle Jason and my Aunt Karen! Everyone keeps saying how pretty I am! I'll take their word for it because I haven't seen a mirror yet!

I'm also a good eater. I ate most of my bottles today and only spit up a little bit. After a while, I figured out how the whole bottle thing works and now I REALLY like it!

I spent some time with my new friend Maria tonight and let Mommy and Daddy get some rest. I guess that had a big day today too. They've been waiting to meet me for a while and they are just all tuckered out.

    FROM MOMMY:

Today was the big day! We got to the hospital and got all checked in. While hooked up to an IV and fetal monitors, I actually started having some contractions. Brian says that according to the print out, they were around 5 minutes apart. I guess baby was coming on July 1st no matter what!

It took a while to get the spinal block done, but once that took, the delivery itself was pretty painless. Brian was right next to me during the delivery and was a real champ! We got to meet our baby not very long after he came out and the nurse was even nice enough to take a family photo of the three of us.

Brian headed off with the baby while they finished up with me. They actually removed one of my fibroids, but apparently there are plenty still left over. For the most part, the doctor said the surgery went well.

I was in recovery for a couple of hours until I could move my feet again. It's a really weird sensation when your brain says to move your leg and you think you're doing it, but you're really not. At least it was temporary. Brian and Daniel were in the recovery room with me. I took a little nap too.

Ricky and Teresa were waiting for us in our room once we got out of the recovery room. They were there before the surgery and Ricky was the first one to get to hold the baby after he was born (besides Brian and the doctors and nurses). He's a proud grandpa!

My brother Jason got to the hospital in the late morning and stayed all afternoon. Danny really looks a lot like Jason when he was born. Brian's parents got there late afternoon to see their grandson. Grandpa Danny loves to play with baby Danny's feet (even when they're wrapped up!). Ricky and Teresa came back around dinner time. Karen stopped by after work. We had a full day of visitors and playing pass the baby!

After everyone had left for the evening (and we thank everyone who stopped by), we were able to spend a little quality time with our little guy. He's very sweet and I love his coos and his sweet little cry.

Around 12:30am, the night nurse Maria (the best nurse ever!) took him to the nursery so that Brian and I could get a little rest. It was a long day for me - up at 4am to go to the hospital and to bed at 1am after major surgery.
