Today we had our pre-op and preregistration with the hospital. We also found out where the heck we'll be going tomorrow (at 5:30 AM!!!).

After lunch, we spent the afternoon together, just being quiet as a couple. Tomorrow is a really big day for us and we are enjoying a little alone time before the big event.

We will keep everyone posted and put up photos as soon as we can! I've been told there's internet in the room, so we should be able to update this web site and send out email soon!

Baby will be here tomorrow morning. Everyone keep good thoughts for us please!

We had our last prenatal appointment today! The last one before the baby is born! It was a quick in and out visit as usual. Heartbeat sounds good.

My doctor is going on vacation until the day before the scheduled c-section date. So the first thing on his calendar coming back from vacation is delivering my son! I hope he has a really good vacation!

However, if the baby decides to be early, we'll have to go to a different hospital in a different city (Ormond Beach instead of DeLand). So we're hoping that he cooperates with our plans because I really don't want someone different delivering him.

And thank you baby for not being born today. It is my birthday and I don't care if it makes me a bad Mommy, but I didn't want to share my birthday!

We had another prenatal appointment today - early! Brian was able to join me for this appointment but it was the very first one of the morning.

It was a pretty standard appointment. I can tell that it was really early because the doctor was able to find the baby's heartbeat really easily. Usually, he has trouble finding it because the baby is moving around so much.

He told me that if my water breaks or if I have contractions 5 minutes apart for an hour that I should call him. DUH! I knew that much from just reading my pregnancy books. So baby can come at any time now - between now and July 1st at the latest.

We went to Babies R Us and Sam's Club today for some more baby stuff. We had a few things to take back to Babies R Us and a few more things to pick up off the registry. We also found a decent sale on diapers and bought 2 big boxes for $30. And I finally got the storage cubes that I have been wanting for baby's room. Now Brian just has to build the storage units for them. :)

Well, I think it's official - I'm nesting! While Brian was away at Grandma's house (Friday night to Saturday afternoon), I started washing all of baby's clothes, linens, blankets, bibs, etc. I finally got everything put away in the nursery the way I want it. There are still a few things I need to clean up and a few things I need to buy for the nursery, but it's about 95% perfect. Then I just need Brian to build a storage unit (actually two pieces) for the nursery and I'll be really happy! But that probably won't happen until after he's arrived since he's still working on the bookcase for the library (he's only about 45% done).

Kimbo Lady: I should tell you I had a dream last night that I was reading about the birth on this website today...kind of a random thing to dream of...hopefully not phrophetic and you hold out until the end. Glad to hear your blood pressure is down. I had preclampsia with Abby and it was pretty bad situation. Hope you stay well. I'm so excited for you!

I went to my prenatal appointment today all by myself. This was the first appointment since the very first one that Brian missed and I know he wasn't happy. My doctor had a student shadowing him from Stetson. He was in a really good mood even though his voice was really scratchy. I asked him about what would happen if baby came early, since our c-section is scheduled for our due date. Basically, he said that we play it by ear. If the baby comes early, the earlier we get to the hospital, the less "emergency" the c-section becomes. We won'd do another ultrasound unless we need to. I'm not allowed to travel more than an hour away from home, so no trip to Grandma's house this weekend. Oh, and my blood pressure is back down again! (Did I mention that Brian's off vacation now?)
