We had another prenatal appointment today. It went okay, but my blood pressure was still up a bit. My weight is high and we hope that that is the main reason. I'm up 30 lbs. now from the beginning of the pregnancy. The doctor put me on modified bed rest. I'm not sure how much more lazy my life can be, but I'm going to try.

We also scheduled the c-section for baby's birth. We were hoping to have him the last week of June, but unfortunately, our doctor is going on vacation that week. So it was either June 23rd with our doctor and the other doctor doing the follow up OR July 1st when he gets back from vacation so he can do all the follow up.

So baby is scheduled to be delivered on our due date of July 1st in the early morning. That is assuming that baby decides to cooperate!

I have another doctor's appointment in a week now. We're getting into the home stretch.

We met with the pediatrician today (even though it was Memorial Day). We think we've chosen well for our son's pediatrician.

And Sarcasm Baby has struck again - we told the doctor that the baby has been getting the hiccups but only on Sundays. So later that night, baby got the hiccups and then again Tuesday and Wednesday mornings! He is his father's son!

We tried checking out some day cares, but they were closed (shut up Rob). So we headed to Sea World with the Wards! We went to the Elmo show and the Shamu show. We had hot dogs for lunch near the dolphin area. We were only there for 4 hours or so, but it was a good time just hanging out. The park was way too crowded for my tastes though.

Today was a big baby day for us. We had a prenatal appointment and child birth class.

The prenatal appointment was interesting. For the first time, my blood pressure was high and they actually had me lay on my left side to lower it a bit. Don't stress out - it was "high" 142/92. That's very low on the high side. After laying down for a while, it did lower. We're not quite sure why it was high, but we'll see what it's like when we go again in two weeks. We'll probably stop at Walmart or Target sometime this week and check it again for free just out of curiousity.

But the best part of the visit was this - we finally have a direction for the birth! We will be having a C-section! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! I know, I'm weird that I prefer a C-section, but I do and we finally got confirmation that will be the route for the delivery. Now we can prepare for the hospital stay and afterwards a little more intelligently!

Later that day, we headed back to DeLand for our childbirth class. We got to tour the birth center - the labor rooms and the postpartum rooms (where we'll be with baby after he's born). We didn't get to see the surgery room, which would've been nice for me, but we had to be respectful of the other women that were there actually giving birth!

We've only got one more class left and then we're done. I like our little group so it'll be a little sad that it'll be over next week. But ironically, they all have our doctor so there's a chance we'll run into them again!

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there!

We went over to Brian's grandmother's house to take her out to lunch but she was sick and didn't feel like going out, so we just got take out from Wendy's and hung out with her.

While at Rob and Karen's yesterday, we made a statement that baby hadn't had the hiccups yet. Well, Sarcastic Baby (that's my husband's son) got the hiccups while we were at Grandma's house! It was neat. It was a very rhythmic and fast and it lasted for almost 5 minutes. One more thing to add to my Belly Book :)
