We had a prenatal visit today and everything looks good. We saw the midwife instead of the doctor and she seems nice. The heartbeat sounds good. It was a quickie visit as usual.

Big day for me! I got to babysit Baby Robert all by myself. I never did that with Anna when she was little because I just didn't have the confidence to fly solo. But there was a need and I found that by being around Karen with Baby Robert the day before, I had the knowledge I needed to watch him by myself.

I knew that Baby Robert would be my practice baby and I got to practice a lot! I fed him 3 bottles and changed 3 diapers. I burped him and didn't even break him. I calmed him when he was fussy and got him to sleep when he was tired. And we got to use the car seat base in my car with his car seat and I drove him around.

When Karen was done at work, we headed back to their place in Titusville. We hung out until Karen had to go to her doctor's appointment that afternoon. We picked Anna up afterwards and went to Publix to scrounge something up for their dinner.

Anna is starting to not like me as much because I've learned how to say no to her. She doesn't like it that I've started taking a "mom tone" with her. She also doesn't like that I've gotten smart enough to say that we need to ask her mom if she can have what she's asking for. She even "na nah na nah na nah"ed me when I told her no and her mom gave her the thing she was asking for!

I've gotten a lot more confident that I might be okay at this mom thing because of Baby Robert and I'm really appreciative that we have friends that decided to have a baby a few months before us!

Today I helped Karen out with her little one, Robert. She's still recovering from her c-section and her help all went off in different directions for a few days, so I helped out. Yeah, I sound all nice, but I benefitted from the experience of being around a newborn again!

I fed him a couple of bottles and watched her change his diapers. She's got most of his signals figured out and I know a few of them now too! He's a cold baby and that's usually the cause of him crying!

We picked Anna up from day care and I hung out with Anna for a bit while Karen fed baby Robert. Anna's funny because she's figured out that Robert has different equipment than her and she's not too shy to tell you about it!

I took the 1 hour glucose test today. I had intended on doing it on Friday, but you had to make an appointment for it and they only have early morning appointments! So I had to be at the lab at 7:45am!

The drink wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I imagined that it would be thicker than it was. It was just a sweeter version of a watered down Hi-C orange drink. It probably didn't hurt that it was also refrigerated!

I sat in the recliner area and chatted with another pregnant girl for a while and then a different one after she went for her blood work. It wasn't an unpleasant experience.

I haven't heard anything from the doctor's office, so I'm assuming that everything came out okay. Otherwise, I would've had to go back in for a 3 hour test!

We had another prenatal appointment today. Nothing unusual about it. Got to listen to baby's heartbeat and it sounded good. We go back in another 3 weeks.

I think it's funny that when I'm running late to the doctor's office, my blood pressure is higher. There's a direct correlation between my blood pressure and how many minutes late I am!
