We had our second ultrasound today and we got to see our baby! I could actually tell where the spine was (that was the only thing I could figure out last time) and the heart. I could make out the feet and sometimes the hands. We even got to see some 3D images of the baby, even though it was a little cramped in there! We didn't get a good shot of what the baby will look like.
It took a while to get baby to uncross its legs, but we did find out that we are having a BOY! So the baby's name will either be Daniel Robert or Robert Daniel. In Brian's family, every other generation the first boy gets named after the grandfathers - dad's side then mom's side. That would be Daniel Robert. But, since my dad isn't with us any more and Brian's dad is, I want my dad's name to go first, making the name Robert Daniel. Two good arguments - one special little guy!
I'm just really happy that my first maternal instinct (the sex of the baby) was right, so that gives me hope that I might do okay at this mommy thing!
And we also got to meet Robert William Ward today - Rob & Karen's son was born 10 minutes before we found out that we too were having a boy. They let it be a surprise at birth. They've got a lot more patience than I do! :) Congrats guys!Comments:Rich & Jen & Mason K: Hooray! A boy! We think they're easier...then again, we might be biased :)Congratulations guys.Add a comment:

Brian went to Texas last week and I missed him while he was gone. The baby's bedding, the nursery border and the baby's dresser arrived while he was gone.
When Brian got home, we picked the colors for the nursery based on the border. We're doing a yellow on top and a green on the bottom with a lighter green inside the closet. The theme for the nursery is jungle animals - you can see it from our registry.
Today we had our next prenatal visit. Everything seems to be going okay. We have the next ultrasound scheduled for this Friday (the 21st) so hopefully we'll find out if we're having a boy or a girl.
The baby is moving around and kicking a bit stronger these days. You can even see my stomach pop up at times when it gets a really good punch or elbow in there.
We're starting to put the nursery together and we're also planning our "baby shower" for next month! We're excited and having fun :)Comments:Add a comment:

The crib is here! The crib is here!
Brian's parents were very kind and bought the baby's crib for us. It arrived today and I'm super excited! I can't wait for Brian to put it together.Comments:Add a comment:

We had our big garage sale this weekend. We called it our "Making Room For Baby" sale. Brian worked the garage sale all weekend and it shows! We made enough to purchase the baby's stroller, high chair and dresser. We even had dinner one night! I also ordered the baby bedding and the border for the nursery over the weekend. I can't wait to get these because then we can figure out the color scheme for the nursery :)
